Steak with Skillet Tomatoes

INGREDIENTS:
3 tsp olive oil, divided
2 strip steaks, 1in thick, about 1 1/2 lbs total
3/4 tsp kosher salt, divided
1/2 tsp black pepper, divided
2 pints grape tomatoes
1/4 cup fresh oregano leaves
DIRECTIONS:
  1. Heat 2 tsp olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Season steak with 1/2 tsp kosher salt and 1/4 tsp black pepper and cook to desired doneness, 4-6 minutes per side for medium-rare.

  2. Let rest at least 5 minutes before slicing. Wipe out the skillet and heat 1 tsp olive oil over medium-high heat.

  3. Add grape tomatoes and 1/4 tsp each kosher salt and black pepper. Cook, tossing occasionally, until beginning to soften, 4-6 minutes.

  4. Mix in fresh oregano leaves and serve with the steaks.
