Zesty Turkey Patties |
Tips: Turkey burgers are so versatile. Add chopped wheat bread to make burgers more moist. Using mushrooms or cooked barley will be a great addition. Use ground chicken in place of the turkey. |

INGREDIENTS: |
1 1/2 lb |
minced (ground) turkey |

small red onion, finely chopped |
|
1 |
grated rind and juice of lime |
|
|
small handful of fresh thyme leaves |
|
2 tbsp |
olive oil |
|
|
salt and ground black pepper, to taste |
|
1 c. |
chopped portabello mushrooms |
|
1/2 c |
Mayo |

DIRECTIONS:
- Mix together the minced turkey, chopped onion, mushrooms, lime rind and juice, thyme and seasoning in a large bowl.
- Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and chill for up to 4 hours. Once ingredients have marinaded, divide mixtur into 6 patties.
- Preheat the grill pan. Brush patties with olive oil, then place them on the pan and cook for 10-12 minutes until browned.
- Turn the patties over, brush with more olive oil and cook for 10-12 minutes.
- Serve patties immediately grilled roll and your favorite vegetables (lettuce, tomatoes, jalapenos)
- Blend mayo, hot sauce and cilantro in food processor and serve with turkey burger.
